Twiga Foods is on its way to being Africa’s largest grocer. They use a mobile-based, cashless, business-to-business supply platform to access distribution into the millions of small and medium sized vendors in the African urban markets. This allows them to drastically lower their daily costs of goods by exploiting latent value in broken, informal, value-chains and wholesale providers.

Performance Manager

The performance manager will have to have good leadership skills. They must be able to meet tasks with structure and strategy that allows staff to work effectively. You will have to be able to aptly communicate Twigas progress to the team on a weekly basis and communicate objectives across the company with weekly work with the management team to outline objectives. Organisation is key as the chief task of performance manager is to work with each division in concert to assure goal delivery is happening. You will also need to have skills in team building so every goal is met into a workable process flow to assure the company is performing to their targets.

Your roles as performance manager will be to encourage teams in outlining clear and achievable objectives. Quickly spot potential roadblocks and advance them to management to keep things running smoothly. Be able to develop a scalable M&E and PM strategy across the company. And report daily to the GM and CEO on progress.

Basic Skills:
  • - 5+ years senior project management experience
  • - Pervious management experience
  • - University degreed

  • - Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Especially Excel)

Chief Technology Manager

As CTO you will have to lead a team to assemble an agile product to be managed in house. So you will have to have skills in team-building and managing a group. Twiga will be relying on you to identify the right technology platforms for the company and the market. Persistent exposure to what’s going on outside our market is key. Strategy is important as you will lead the IT component of the strategy team in reaching our goals within timetables, and inline with our broader initiatives. You will also have to aptly communicate with Twigas IT strategy to investors, vendors, staff and donor partners.

Your roles will include building a team who will design, develop, implement and maintain mobile tech and back-end support technologies. Creating mobile-based client research initiative and overseeing web-development. You will also integrate payments platforms into mobile platforms.

Basic Skills:
  • - CSS/HTML

  • - Familiar with agile methodology
  • - Has contributed to a demonstrable mCommerce product roll-out
  • - Demonstrated ability to envision web and mobile services that meet consumer needs or solve business problems
