Head Of Commercial
The Head of Commercial is a senior leadership position within Money254 and the first hire in their commercial team. The Head of Commercial will play a vital role in shaping their value proposition to financial organizations, from Commercial banks, through to SACCOs and traditional Microfinance Institutions, and will source and close our first commercial agreements from across the financial ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Industry Mapping: Work with the founding team to identify customer personas within the financial institutions and map out potential early accounts from across the financial sector who could benefit from Money254’s value proposition.
- Commercial Strategy: Work with the CEO on pricing strategy and help shape the Money254 value proposition for financial institutions.
- B2B Commercial Process Building: Take ownership over and build out the Money254 sales process, including both demand and lead generation, pipeline management, account onboarding and after sales customer success.
- Business Development: Build strong relationships across the financial sector to create an initial pipeline of qualified leads and actively manage the pipeline from lead identification through to close.
- Sales: Manage the execution of commercial agreements with financial partners, from pitch preparation through to contract negotiation.
- Support Product Vision: Work with the Chief Product Officer to inform the Money254 B2B product vision for our financial partners in order to create a seamless experience between the Money254 lead generation platform and our partners.
- Customer Success: Build and manage processes to handle after-sales support and proactively respond to any partner issues that arise.
- Relationship building & product evangelism: Build and maintain relationships within financial organizations and use those relationships to create a broader understanding of the financial lead generation industry within the financial sector in Kenya. Represent Money254 at industry events.
- Performance reporting: Define commercial dashboards, track and analyze commercial performance, lead the reporting of key metrics (i.e. revenue targets, etc) to other Money254 senior management at regular intervals. Identify opportunities for commercial process testing or improvements based on analyzed data.
- Other activities as necessary based on business need.
Your Background and Interests:
- You have a minimum of 7 years of experience building and leading a B2B SaaS sales team, with a focus on FinTech platforms preferred.
- You have a wide-reaching, existing network within the Kenyan financial and insurance institutions. You have a strong, broad awareness of different types of institutions within the Kenyan financial and insurance industry, including banks, Sacco’s, Microfinance institutions, digital lenders, and insurance providers.
- You have ideally worked within or sold marketing and/or customer acquisition services to financial institutions in Kenya.
- You ideally have experience utilizing a CRM to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data, and would be comfortable setting one up for a new institution.
- You ideally have an understanding of how the global financial lead generation/ affiliate marketing industry operates and recent trends within the sector.
- You have strong attention to detail and bring an analytical mindset to solving problems and analyzing information.

Product Designer
The Product Designer will be instrumental in helping Money254 create a best-in-class user experience on their platform. The Product Designer will immediately impact and drive the creative direction for the Money254 brand overall, including influencing their brand characteristics, style guides, and design standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
UX/UI Design
- Build and maintain a unified and scalable Design System for Money254 and incorporate the Design System within the existing design assets. Manage and refine the organization-level design style guide, including updating colors, fonts, iconography, and other design components on the site.
- Identify how new features should fall within our information architecture to make information accessible, usable, and understandable.
- Create low-fidelity wireframes during the ideation phase of new features to refine alongside the Chief Product Officer and other stakeholders.
- Create quick, usable prototypes of new features to better judge their user experience using tools like Figma and InVision. Lead prototype testing with both internal teammates and end users to refine and optimize designs.
- Create high-fidelity, pixel-perfect designs of new site features, including interaction, visual, and motion / animation design elements.
- Continuously identify opportunities to A/B test and optimize UI design elements on the site to increase site usability, performance, and conversion rates.
- Design unique, ad-hoc graphics for the site when necessary to support the overall Money254 brand development and memorability of the website. Identify opportunities to incorporate new graphics and other elements into articles and guides published by the Money254 editorial team.
Developing Money254’s Design Organization
- Support the Chief Product Officer in creating a growth strategy for the Product Design team, including the hiring of future UX and UI design specialists. Play a significant role in the identification and recruitment of new product design team members.
- Support the Chief Product Officer in identifying key success metrics and performance indicators for both UX and UI design functions within the Product Design team.
- Identify and share our design-related learnings to external audiences, including authoring company blog articles, participating in Nairobi-based design forums, etc., to help continuously build our reputation as design leaders within the industry.
- Other activities as necessary based on business need.
Your Background and Interests:
- You have a strong UI design background, with at least five (5) years of UI design experience for consumer facing (B2C) applications and websites in Kenya. You have strong mastery of interaction design, visual design, and motion design principles.
- You have ideally designed websites or applications focused on helping users make financial decisions or manage their finances within Kenya. Relevant design experiences could include B2C apps focused on digital banking / digital wallets, budgeting and money management, credit monitoring, personal investing, e-commerce, or similar.
- You have an interest in UX design, and have experience creating low- and high-fidelity prototypes of design ideas and testing them with users. You are intrinsically motivated by a mix of being ‘in the office’ and out with users getting design feedback.
- You have strong proficiency with the Figma design platform. Familiarity in Sketch, Adobe XD, and/or InVision is okay to have in lieu of Figma experience.
- You are capable of graphic design, including creating a brand, platform, and marketing assets.
- You are a dynamic team player who collaborates effectively with product managers, UX researchers, software engineers, and product marketers to bring products to market. You act as a strategic partner in product decisions.

User Experience Researcher
The User Experience (UX) Researcher will be instrumental in helping Money254 identify and design new product features that empower its users to better manage their financial lives. You will provide actionable and meaningful data-driven insights that enable the wider design team to create user-friendly products based on this real user feedback.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the formation of their strategic approach to introducing personal finance management features onto Money254 based on user and market-based insights.
- Work closely with the product development, design, and marketing teams to identify and evaluate research topics.
- Perform market and ethnographic research, and conduct primary and secondary user research using common human-centred design research techniques, including user interviews, diary studies, surveys, usability studies, etc.
- Identify user insights from research activities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for the product development team.
- Present design research findings to the broader Money254 team on a regular basis, helping everyone keep the ‘needs of the customer’ front of mind as the product organization grows.
Your Background and Interests:
- You have at least five (5) years of B2C product user research experience in Kenya, with a background performing UX research for a B2C fintech / personal finance management product in Kenya preferred.
- You have demonstrated experience performing all research-related tasks, including research, planning, evaluation, and iteration.
- You are comfortable employing a variety of UX Research and human-centred design tools autonomously, including user interviews, diary studies, concept models, task flows, co-creation sessions, usability studies, etc.
- You have strong knowledge of urban and peri-urban markets in Kenya and user behaviours across various upper income, middle income, and broad market customer segments.
- You have familiarity and the ability to collaborate effectively with digital product managers, UI designers, and software engineers, and act as a strategic partner in product decisions.
