Becoming a successful eHealth entrepreneur, learning how can different ecosystem players support entrepreneurs in their daily challenges can be a tough journey. To help you with that and improve your knowledge in the field, Intellecap & Merck’s have decided to hold monthly joint event series which provide a comprehensive platform for conversations around challenges and solutions in scaling eHealth innovations in East Africa. In the 3rd edition that will be held next Tuesday June 28 from 5-7pm at our office space on Ngong Road, you will be hearing in particular from corporate accelerators, corporate research labs and university research labs what specific traits startups have to bring in order to scale up successfully.
To learn a bit more about the main organizers: Since 2002, Intellectual Capital Advisory Services (Intellecap) has indeed been deeply committed to economic and social development through market-based solutions. Its main aim is to help build and scale innovative businesses for social change and in this perspective it has launched market building initiatives to further the inclusive development agenda and plug critical gaps. These include among others Sankalp Forum – the world’s largest high impact SME focused platform and the Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N) – India and East Africa’s first angel network focused on impact enterprise.
Regarding Merck on the other side, it is a leading science and technology company in healthcare, life science and performance materials which aim is to further develop technologies that improve and enhance life – from bio pharmaceutical therapies to treat cancer or multiple sclerosis, cutting-edge systems for scientific research and production, to liquid crystals for smartphones and LCD televisions. Founded in 1668, Merck is the world’s oldest pharmaceutical and chemical company and today one of the most successful as in 2015 it generated sales € 12.85 billion in 66 countries.
