Moringa School is a multi-disciplinary coding school committed to closing the skills gap in Africa’s job market by offering high-potential students the necessary technical and professional training in order to compete in a digital, global economy. Founded in 2014 by Audrey Cheng, a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur, Moringa School is creating world-class developers by providing a comprehensive curriculum and an outcome-driven program to motivated, young people in Africa.
On the 23rd of October 2014, the Nairobi Garage and Moringa School held a one-day coding workshop to help developers sharpen their skills. It’s one of many short workshops held at the Garage, which is invested in facilitating skills transfer among entrepreneurs.
Moringa school also has a number of longer more intensive programs. If you are interested in programming – or looking for affordable opportunities to improve your skills – this is something you can’t miss!
On the 12th of January 2015, a 12 week program is on offer for programmers interested in learning more about mobile and web development. The full-time intensive program will run 5 days a week, for 11 hours each day. It is facilitated by ‘the Harvard’ of programming, US based Hack Reactor. Hack Reactor is renowned for improving the skills of experienced developers and even teaching newbies how to build games in under three months.
Other than important programming fundamentals, attendants will learn: UX design, presentation skills and business fundamentals.
