Nairobi Garage is looking for Communications/Social Media intern (for a period of 3 – 6 months, depending on availability), who will assist on handling online and offline communications for the company. As the Nairobi Garage is tech and online-focused, there will be a greater amount of online-communication, including social media and blog writing, as well as helping out with event management.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
//Write engaging copy promoting Nairobi Garage’s web content and post on social media platforms daily
//Track success of all social media posts and communicate progress with the supervisor
//Grow our fanbase and engage with followers
//Assist in writing email newsletters and blog content
//Assist with event marketing and promotion
//Perform other content and marketing duties as needed
Requirements:
//Ability to work at least 30 hours/week
//High school graduate with previous internship experience or 1st/2nd year student with major in communications, writing, marketing or PR
//Experience with creating/managing presence on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other online communities
//Must have passion for writing (ideally someone with their own blog)
//Passion for technology, business, social media, and a start-up environment
//Ability to communicate effectively with the team and thrive in fast-paced environment
//The desire and ability to learn on the fly
//Come up with creative workarounds when time and resources are scarce
//Team player,collaborative operating style
