Nairobi Garage is a community of great entrepreneurs, techies and investors. It’s always great to see new additions to the family and equally saddening to say goodbye.
Voxtra, which invests in capital-constrained agri-businesses, has exited Nairobi Garage.
Agri-business is huge especially in developing markets which are agriculture based like Kenya. Voxtra chose to focus on agri-businesses that benefit small-holder farmers, ensuring they not only create financial returns but also social impact.
The company investments range from USD300,000 up to USD3,000,000 and they hold them for 3-7 years. They also invest in equity where a clear exit strategy exists. The fund, which had its first closing in 2011, currently stands at USD 18 million.
Voxtra prides itself in being able to support their portfolio companies to deliver on their growth plans. This, they do by not only offering strategic advice but also through sales and marketing as well as management and governance.
This is a great startup and will be missed by the entire Nairobi Garage community.
