Spring, a new business accelerator is seeking start-up businesses that could transform the lives of young girls, for funding.
The organization was founded with the aim of empowering the 250 million adolescent girls living in poverty today to enable society break the cycle of poverty. Girls aged between 12-24 offer a better chance at improving society as their education and economic empowerment will mean no child marriages, teen pregnancies and reduced HIV/AIDS rates.
Partnering with The UK’s Department for International Development, the Nike Foundation, and US Agency for International Development, Spring funds innovations and creative businesses that provide valuable products and services that will impact these adolescent girls positively.
Funding for these girl-child focused innovations can go as high as $80,000 per business.
Spring also connects the businesses with mentors, advisers, investors and experts. All these ensure the business is in experienced hands and is bound to be impactful.
The organization is seeking 18 strong entrepreneurs with brilliant innovation ideas for funding.
Applications are open in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
