Through its two inter-related programs, Sinapis is able to train & accelerate entrepreneurs, ultimately creating sustainable employment.
The Sinapis Entrepreneurship Training Program is an intensive 4-month business training program similar to a mini-MBA but customized for earlier stage ventures. Graduates of that program are eligible to compete in the annual Sinapis Business Plan Competition for a grand prize of $10,000 and a spot in the Fast Track Fellows Program, a 6-month accelerator program that provides the entrepreneurs access to high quality generalist consultants, professional advisors, successful entrepreneur mentors, advanced trainings, and investor match-making.
In its quest to nurture Kenyan entrepreneurs, Sinapis is seeking to hire a Country Manager to oversee its operations in Kenya.
The Country Manager will be responsible for:
-Local partnership development to find, train & manage local partners who implement the Sinapis Entrepreneurship Training Program
-Program management to ensure smooth, high quality program delivery and to coordinate the training of trainers as well as the logistics of the Sinapis Business Plan Competition and conferences and alumni gatherings
-General management & administration of the country office, which involves generating local content for PR & social media campaigns, managing the country operational budget & overseeing bookkeeping, and hiring, training & managing local staff
Sinapis is looking for someone who is comfortable in a startup environment. Some of the qualifications include:
-Either an undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration from a top school with a solid understanding of business both academically and practically
-At least 5 years of work experience in business with a track record of handling or acquiring new partners and general process improvement
-Experience in leading projects and/or programs and ability to easily learn different project management software e.g. Wrike, trello etc
-Preferable types of working experience include entrepreneurship, management consulting, NGO management, sales and operations
-General business acumen & knowledge of startup & SME entrepreneurship in Kenya or Africa
-Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills
-Extremely positive attitude & friendly disposition
-Most importantly, a heart and passion for Sinapis’ mission of empowering Kingdom entrepreneurs
