#SheHive: She Came, She Networked, She Learnt & She was Inspired! This illustrative hashtag perfectly resumes the She Hive campaign’s main activities and aims.
Finally coming for 4 days in Nairobi now, this event, hosted at Nairobi Garage’s spaces, will be part of the SheHive Tour which started in September 2015 in Lagos (video here) and is now taking the bootcamp to 7 African cities in 2016, expanding to have special programs and courses for career women. Previous editions so far this year have also been held in Accra (January 2016 – photos here) and Abuja (May 2016 – photos here).
She Leads Africa is the hosting organization of the She Hive events, dedicated exclusively to African female entrepreneurs. During these specific dedicated events, women have the unique opportunity to learn new business skills, connect with fellow young professionals, and met with potential investors and mentors.
So far, all the events have been a success as they always provide useful new skills in climbing the corporate ladder, developing pitch deck, identifying job opportunities, speaking with investors, idea generation and more for young and ambitious women. In Lagos, for example, more than 150 women participated, learning from international and local experts. In March in Abuja, the bootcamp saw 100 attendees over the weekend and on Twitter the #SheHiveAbuja hashtag made 2.5 million impressions in one week on Twitter, it reached over 5.5 million impressions on Instagram. Two of Nigeria’s most prominent investors, the Nigerian Minister for Trade, Investment & Industry, as well as the Head of the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund featured as speakers.

The event will kick off on Thursday 30th June at 2pm with a business development workshop. Friday, the theme of the workshop will be marketing and it will also be a day devoted to Investor Readiness, led by SLA co founders . On Saturday and Sunday, a wider audience is expected with much more variated activities, including various topics such as the business of entertainment, the hospitality and beauty industry, tech business,gender equality or leadership.
