Are you a small business in need of support in a specific area of your business? Or do you have expertise you could offer a growing organization?
Shortlist , a talent management platform, and WomenWork, a go-to network for ambitious female professionals in Kenya in partnership with the UK Kenya Tech Hub (UKKTH) have opened applications for the Kenya Small Business Leaders.
The programme matches technology-enabled small businesses with experts ready to share industry knowledge for a period of three (3) months. The paid virtual secondment aims to help fuel growth, unlock potential, and accelerate local Kenyan business.
For the Businesses
The Kenya Small Business Leaders Programme will select at least 15 small businesses in Kenya to receive support by a functional area expert to help grow the business or solve a key challenge. There is no cost for small businesses to apply and/or to participate.
When selected businesses will be matched with experts in areas of the greatest need based on the challenges the business is facing.
Businesses that meet the following criteria are highly encouraged to apply:
Businesses that are led by women, those that are based outside of Nairobi, and those that are generating outsized levels of social impact will also be highly prioritized.
Does this sound like your business? Or do you know a business owner who would need this programme? Share or apply for the programme here before 5 pm EAT, December 3rd, 2020.
For the Experts
The Kenya Small Business Leaders programme will be developing a pool of “pre-vetted’ experts from which small business participants may select to engage. As an expert, you will need to have at least 10 years of functional experience in your chosen field. You will be paired with a small business that needs your skillset and works with them for three (3) months.
While Experts will be compensated for their time, those who are motivated by an interest to support local small businesses, rather than by financial compensation, will be prioritised.
Is this up to your alley? Does either one sound like you or someone you know? Apply for the programme here before 5 pm EAT, December 3rd, 2020.
