Africa is quickly developing in ICT and no other region is leading the way as East Africa. Kenya through the ICT Authority came up with Connected East Africa bringing together ICT authorities across the region to seek ways of spurring growth.
As part of this effort, Connected East Africa held a forum in February at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre which brought together hundreds of brilliant innovators to showcase their products/services. This encourages more people to join the cause of seeing a tech mature East Africa.
Connected East Africa also came up with the ICT Innovation awards which are presented during the Connected East Africa Summit which will this year be held in Diani on April 1st.
These awards identify and reward innovations that directly and positively impact residents of the East Africa community.
The ICT Innovation Awards is thereby accepting applications to be considered for recognition at the summit. Those who participated as exhibitors during the Connected E. A Forum at KICC in February need not apply as the service/product will be entered into the awards automatically.
A company or organization will be eligible if;
-They have a product or service that has East Africa citizens as the end user.
-They have a product or service that uses IT in a unique and effective way.
The products will have to demonstrate that they have potential positive impact on E.A citizens and also that they are creative and user friendly in delivery.
Sounds interesting? The application deadline is March 15, 2015.
