Jasiri has announced the call for applications for the Jasiri Talent Investor Program, Cohort 5.
Jasiri is specifically inviting young people from Ethiopia, Kenya, and Rwanda to apply for Cohort 5 of the Talent Investor program.
Interested applicants will go through a thorough selection process to assess their skills and abilities. Those finally selected are called ‘Jasiri Fellows’, and will participate in the fully-funded 13-month Jasiri Talent Investor Program.
Jasiri is an entrepreneurship development program supported by Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy to accelerate meaningful employment creation, by investing in, nurturing, and empowering responsible and value-driven individuals with an ambition to create high-impact ventures.
“Jasiri’s mission is to attack poverty. Hence we are driven by a need to address the fast-growing challenge of unemployment for young Africans. The path to prosperity and equal opportunity in Africa lies in high-potential individuals becoming high-impact and responsible entrepreneurs,” – Dr Roselyn-Marandu Kareiithi, Country Lead, Kenya, AGGP.
She also added, “Through the Jasiri Talent Investor, we present an entrepreneurial development intervention in the Eastern African Region, aimed at motivating, supporting, enabling, and spurring value-based responsible entrepreneurs to succeed. We have succeeded with our previous Cohorts, and look forward to welcoming entrepreneurial gems from across the country to our Cohort 5.”
The program uses a unique approach to entrepreneurship development. Rather than investing in existing companies or teams, the program focuses on identifying ambitious and ethical individuals who want to become entrepreneurs.
We bring the selected individuals together and offer an optimal environment to form founding teams who rapidly experiment with new and innovative ideas, to build from scratch ventures that address the common good, solving pressing problems in our society.
Through the program, Fellows are provided with holistic support including funding, world-class entrepreneurship development guidance, coaching, business advisory, and linkages with industry experts to increase their chances of success.
Since its start, in December 2020, Jasiri Talent Investor has seen the creation of 42 ventures in a wide range of industries such as agriculture, healthcare, edtech, affordable housing, and fintech.
The application for the fifth cohort of the Jasiri Talent Investor Program will open on July 17, 2023, and close on October 17, 2023.
Jasiri will be conducting virtual information sessions to provide interested applicants with detailed information about the application process and address any queries they may have.
