Branch reached 100,000 subscribers

This is a huge deal, in just over a year of operations, Branch already reached the milestone they set for themselves when they launched. We at the Garage couldn’t be prouder of our members, they may not have been with us for that long, but they already make up a crucial part of our community, and we’re happy to see them succeed!

100,000 subscribers doesn’t just mean people that registered, but people that actually took loans, and paid them back. This is all proof that Branch’s model made a splash in Kenya’s finance landscape, bringing supply for a demand that was very large, in a region where access to bank loans is a privilege, and not a given.

Their reaching this milestone isn’t the only thing Branch can use as an excuse to celebrate! The second version of their app was just successfully launched, offering greater functionality to business owners. They’re also scaling their lending platform off into Tanzania! It’s a shame we don’t have a Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, or Zanzibar Garage, but hey.. You never know what the future could hold.
