Who is Bankorus?

Bankorus, is a wealth management platform, built on a blockchain protocol that was founded in Beijing in 2013. Using a combination of blockchain and AI, Bankorus essentially enables its clients to convert real-world assets into cryptocurrency tokens. At present, their protocol is an open-source API based on the NEM blockchain; the company is  planning an ICO for their own token, the BKT. Registration has opened on their website.Bankarous have recently collaborated with JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce business worth an estimated $100bn.

Bankorus  started using blockchain as a means to put  all the client data and asset data on the chain: as a way to tokenise the asset so it becomes data and the custody of the asset can be kept on the chain. Tokens, which shows you are the owner of this asset, and smart contracts, are probably the most efficient, secure and transparent way for you to hold your belongings and wealth and to check it and trade it. What Bankorus does is it essentially enables HNWIs (High Net Worth Individuals) to tokenise their assets, such as real estate,  by placing them on blockchain and then giving crypto-tokens to the beneficiaries. It can be made safe by putting certain requirements into the token to ensure that only accredited investors, for example, can participate in the transaction of the tokens.

By tokenising assets, Bankorus claims it can slim down the corporate loan market. Smart contracts can automatically be added to any Bankorus loan agreement – ‘bLoan’ – which will allow assets to be transferred in the event of non-payment; potentially saving companies and individuals millions in legal fees as well as releasing unparalleled levels of liquidity into the loan market.

Think about it as Amazon- a marketplace where the consumer can buy almost any good in the world. In the same way, Bankorus is the marketplace that aims to be the place where you can buy any type of security or asset-backed token.
