WhatsHotAfrica is looking for talented, motivated digital professionals with experience working both in Africa but also having knowledge of international digital best practices.

WhatsHotAfrica is in the process of scaling up and is on the lookout for individuals with both key digital skills, the ability to utilize those skills in a team setting (across time zones and cultures). You must also be able to identify new digital trends which can maximize traffic and growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Daily oversight of all fifteen sites in the network, working with content and contributor teams across the continent, and managing content calendars and content flow. (You will have three regional hub directors to work with.)
- Daily oversight of all social media programs and opportunities for both traffic growth and community engagement. (Again, via the regional directors)
- The creation of an 18 – 24 month plan for growth (the network goal is 30 million pageviews a month) including revenue optimization
- The creation of an immediate (6 – 9 month) plan for the analysis of relatively new and emerging Social Media platforms and our plan for optimization.
- The creation of a plan for podcast development and launch
- The creation of a plan for video content improvement and expansion.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 – 7 years within the digital space with on-the-ground Africa experience being a non-negotiable requirement.
- Proven record within digital in terms of traffic and social media growth.
- Familiarity with consumer-facing media networks, advertising, measurement, and monetization strategies.
- Ability to use data and analysis for product planning and understanding impact.
- A bias for action when managing competing priorities in a way that keeps the team focused while demonstrating progress to internal partners.
- Experience participating in technical discussions and running meetings with technical and business leaders.
- Ability to effectively manage outsourced technical development resources
- Outstanding written and verbal skills.
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-moving startup environment.
