Member Focus: Sprout-Ke

Today we’d like to introduce you to one of our newest members: Sprout-Ke. They’re shaking up the education industry in Kenya with their e-school diary. Sprout-Ke’s platform is connecting parents and educators in a way never done before. They enable parents receive their child’s school information digitally and real time from their educators.

We chatted to Alice, the founder, on what inspired her and the highs (and lows) she’s faced:

How did Sprout-Ke start?

The communication system between parents of young kids and their educators is broken, so we decided to fix it. Kids spend a major part of their day in school. The problem is that parents aren’t included in what happens with their kids during this time. Sprout-Ke is specifically designed to share that information to the parents. We offer digital real time information to parents about their children from check in/check out, observation of their learning progress and a calendar to stay up to date with school activities. We saw a problem in the market and we decided to solve it.

What has been your proudest moment?

Receiving positive feedback from our users especially those whose interactions with their children have been improved due to awareness of their development progress. It’s always a proud moment when you see your passion changing lives.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

As an entrepreneur nobody will see your vision the way you do and that is okay. Simply let that vision be your driving force.
