Our member Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies is looking for a Jasiri Entrepreneurship Coordinator who is a well-connected individual/ entrepreneur in the Kenyan and Eastern Africa entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In this role s/he will be responsible for identifying and mobilizing individuals for the Jasiri Talent Investor, ventures for the Jasiri Growth Accelerator, and making the Jasiri brand become well known in the Kenyan ecosystem and beyond.

Jasiri High Impact Entrepreneurship Program – one of AGGP’s programs in Eastern Africa – invests in, nurtures, and empowers entrepreneurs who benefit society and attack poverty through the creation of high impact new businesses, creating new markets in the African continent.
Jasiri Talent Investor identifies and nurtures entrepreneurs with the potential to create high-growth ventures / market-creating innovations (MCIs). It is a funded one-year a program that will guide participants – known as Jasiri Fellows – to develop businesses from scratch i.e., from idea generation, validation, prototyping, market-entry, and venture creation.
Jasiri systematically identifies and removes potential stumbling blocks on the entrepreneurial journey and beliefs that entrepreneurial teams are at the heart of new venture creation.
The program introduces Jasiri Fellows to equally ambitious co-founders, and supports them on an individual, team, and business level through seasoned Mentors and Business Coaches.
Jasiri Growth Accelerator invests in and supports early-stage companies that are ready to grow. Ventures with high growth potential and market-creating innovations which demonstrate product-market fit is provided with funding to support their growth and assisted with investor readiness.
Responsibilities
Regional Roles:
- Ecosystem Development
Manage the Angel Networks, including coordinating Angels’ needs assessment and implementation of the agreed support (such as training) to the Angels.
- Community Building
Lead and manage the development of a strong and vibrant community of Jasiri Fellows, Jasiri Entrepreneurs, and Alumni Network through developing, executing, and owning an operational and engagement strategy for all community development activities.
- Entrepreneurs Development
Work alongside the Program Lead and the Head Coach & Mentor Manager in the processes of supporting entrepreneurs in both the Jasiri Talent Investor and Growth Accelerator, connecting them with resources within the ecosystem, maximizing their chances of progressing to the next stage, i.e., finding product-market fit (Talent Investor) and scaling (Growth Accelerator) including securing venture capital.
- Program Implementation
Proactively participate in program implementation of the Jasiri Talent Investor and Growth Accelerator offerings, focusing on achieving high-quality delivery, facilitating sessions, assessing participants’ engagement, and contributing to improving the Jasiri Program.
- Selection
Participate in the Selection Process for the Jasiri Talent Investor and Growth Accelerator.
Kenya Specific Roles:
- Ecosystem Development
Champion building of the Jasiri brand in Kenya by leveraging social channels and facilitating meaningful connections with the entrepreneurship ecosystem, identifying entrepreneurial events and leaders in the Kenyan ecosystem, hosting events, and representing AGGP and its programs in meetings, conferences, and events.
Effectively identify, onboard, manage relationships and maintain the database in Kenya of Jasiri partners, influencers, campaign partners (such as recruitment agencies, incubators, accelerators, universities, etc), short term recruiters, mentors, coaches, advisors, angel investors, venture capitalists, etc. for the purposes of improving the programmatic outcomes of Jasiri.
- Jasiri Recruitment
Lead the search for, and recruitment of, promising ventures in Kenya for the Jasiri Growth Accelerator in collaboration with the Program Lead.
Spearhead relationship buildings that facilitate the search for and recruitment of high-potential individuals in Kenya for the Jasiri Talent Investor in collaboration with the Country Lead, Program Lead, and Lead Recruiter.
General Roles:
- Provide regular updates and written progress reports.
- Complete all administrative tasks and any other duties required in the role and as assigned.
Job Requirements
Experience:
- Over 5 years experience in entrepreneurship development
- Exceptional record of mobilizing, motivating, and managing entrepreneurs.
- Proven experience as a mobilizer in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Familiarity with entrepreneurial principles, practices, methodologies, and Competencies.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Studies and/or Social Studies.
Skills and Competencies:
- Language & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail Orientation & Reasoning: Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to work efficiently, and ability to work with program systems and tools. The ability to reason analytically and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects are required.
- People: Ability to work with team members (internal) and external stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional people skills with a strong ability to inspire, motivate and influence others.
- Values: Alignment with AGGP’s values.
- Other: Occasional out-of-town travel may be required, as well as some evening and weekend work to complete projects, and participate in workshops, seminars, training, and professional development.
