Akili Kids! Tv Scoops Best TV in Children and Broadcasting category at the KUZA Awards
Akili Kids! TV has scooped the Gold Award in the best TV under the Ubunifu Category as the Best TV in Children Broadcasting at the 6th KUZA Awards.
Akili Kids! TV was feted for promoting the observance of children’s welfare in broadcasting services
Organized by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the Awards recognize and fete excellence in broadcasting. The theme this year is “Shaping the Future of Broadcasting: Towards the Creative Economy”.
The objectives of the CA Kuza Broadcasting Awards are to celebrate excellence in Kenyan broadcasting, reward responsible and responsive broadcasting, enable consumer participation, and encourage the use of the broadcasting platform for social economic development
Award Categories
This year the Kuza Awards were based on three major award categories proposed for the 6th edition of the Kuza Awards.
The Regulatory and People’s Choice Awards are standing award categories, while the theme awards vary based on the theme. The 2023 awards are proposed as follows:

Regulatory Awards Category
This award was based on the monitoring of the broadcaster’s compliance with the following requirements during the financial year 2022/23:
- Broadcast Content Monitoring
- Inspection of broadcaster’s facilities
- Compliance returns information
- Complaints handling and resolution
- License conditions
People Choice Awards Category
This award was based on consumer feedback where audiences voted, at no cost, for their preferred station, via a mobile SMS survey
Innovation/ Ubunifu Award Category (Theme Awards)
This award is based on the Award’s theme “Shaping the Future of Broadcasting”. The award aims to recognize broadcasters who are creative and innovative in embracing new trends and technology.
The aim of the awards is to recognize broadcasters who stand in line with the Regulatory Requirement Board of Kenya
