Arts and Sports could be a  huge contributor to job creation in Africa this is because innovation and creativity are key drivers in the world of sport and art

In every sporting field, inventors and creators are working behind the scenes to push the boundaries, creating new opportunities for enjoyment and for athletes to better their performance.

However, like most industries, the sector is faced with myriad challenges and mostly leading to most youths letting go of their talents in sports and arts to pursue other interests.

One major challenge that sportsmen and the youth in the Art industry face understanding their Intellectual Property rights and how this can be an enabler for them to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create.

IP rights encourage innovation and creativity in all areas, including in sports. More innovation and creativity in sports means access to a continuous flow of new ways to enhance athletic performance and our enjoyment of sports better equipment, more business opportunities, more jobs, and a fabulous fan experience.

Well, some organizations like Art at Work have come up with ways that facilitate the creation of sustainable jobs in Arts and Sports while emphasizing the need for the creatives industry to understand and patent their work.

That’s why this month during the #AfterOfficeHours, we have the privilege of having Roy Gitahi, Founder and Chairman of Art at Work host our session.
