When it comes to Artificial Intelligence (AI) many thoughts cross our minds from Apple’s Siri, to Microsoft’s Cortana and probably Amazon’s Alexa or even the life-threatening robots that many think are out to extinguish humanity.
But then what exactly is AI? Do we really have a definite answer to this? Interestingly, AI has been around for decades but like most technologies, it is experiencing a strong surge among businesses now.
This is because of the amount of data generated daily and the fact that the analysis tools that help organizations manage their data are also becoming more accessible.
In 2018, Gartner predicted that the AI market will be worth $1.2 trillion, indicating that that around half of companies surveyed are planning to adopt some form of AI and Machine Learning solutions soon.
While Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are important tools for businesses looking forward, there is a big gap in the overall know-how that business leaders are facing today.
Join Muthoni Wanyoike, Team Lead – Instadeep for the first workshop in 2019, on 29th January from 6pm to 7pm at Nairobi Garage Westlands, M2, Mirage Towers as she walks us through how we can align our businesses with the AI Revolution.
Muthoni, will also demystify AI concepts by proving practical examples of AI in use and how this technology improves our day to day lives as well as the huge opportunities for that lie ahead for startups.
Muthoni Wanyoike, is the team lead at Instadeep in Kenya. She is passionate about bridging the skills gap in AI in Africa and does this by co-organizing the Nairobi Women in Machine Learning community which provides learning, mentorship, networking and job opportunities for people with interests and working in AI.
She is experienced in Research, Data science, community and project management and community growth hacking.
