Learn Mapping Event in Nairobi

Our member Code for Africa has a special Hacks/Hackers event planned for you this August.

How do you use maps to visualize data stories? What value do they give your stories? What tools can you use for creating maps? If you want to Learn Mapping then this is the Hacks Hackers event for you.

Mikel Maron from Mapbox will be running a training session on How to Use Mapping in telling your data stories. Mikel leads the Community Team at Mapbox, building diverse collaborations centered on amazing mapping tools and open data, to make positive change on complex, global problems.

He is the co-founder of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, co-founder of Map Kibera and GroundTruth Initiative and Board member of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

Mapbox is a Live Location Platform whose tools let developers and designers build a new world powered by location data. Mapbox started because of the power of location. Working in Afghanistan, Congo, Haiti, and the United States Mapbox saw how data and maps can shine a bright light on the hardest of problems. Their mission to get the best location tools into the hands of changemakers around the world.
