This month at Nairobi Garage, we are focusing on health and innovation. We are creating a healthy workspace across all our 5 coworking offices in Nairobi, where you can make work feel easy and enjoyable. Our members provide a pool of innovative professionals and individuals which a wealth of network that has kept building since the inception of Nairobi Garage.

Martin’s journey into entrepreneurship started in 2012 when he moved to Kenya as the Entrepreneur in Residence for 88mph, an African investment fund focused on early-stage tech startups.

88mph would later become Nairobi Garage, and Mdundo has been a member since!

Fast forward to today, and Mdundo stands as one of Africa’s leading music services, boasting over 30,000,000 active users monthly from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, and Nigeria.

The company aims to provide Africa with easy and legal access to online entertainment and reach millions of people across Africa every month. Mdundo enables artists to keep track of fans, downloads, and royalties paid in July and January every year. They now work with +150k musicians across Africa and have a licensing deal with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Believe Digital, and Tunecore.

During our After Office Hours session this April, Martin will share valuable insights gained from his entrepreneurial journey. From navigating the intricacies of the music industry to fostering innovation in a competitive market, Martin’s experiences offer a wealth of knowledge for aspiring entrepreneurs and industry enthusiasts alike.

Beyond poeeking  into his entrepreneurial journey, Martin will also touch on Mdundo’s innovative approach to providing music lovers with easy and affordable access to a large library of music. With partnerships with major global players, Mdundo’s reach and impact continue to expand, shaping the future of music consumption in Africa.
