Martin’s journey into entrepreneurship started in 2012 when he moved to Kenya as the Entrepreneur in Residence for 88mph, an African investment fund focused on early-stage tech startups.
88mph would later become Nairobi Garage, and Mdundo has been a member since!
Fast forward to today, and Mdundo stands as one of Africa’s leading music services, boasting over 30,000,000 active users monthly from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, and Nigeria.
The company aims to provide Africa with easy and legal access to online entertainment and reach millions of people across Africa every month. Mdundo enables artists to keep track of fans, downloads, and royalties paid in July and January every year. They now work with +150k musicians across Africa and have a licensing deal with Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Believe Digital, and Tunecore.
