Citi earlier this year announced a digital accelerator program dubbed the Citi Mobile Challenge which sought to improve FinTech and bring about sound innovation in the banking industry.
Following the successful applications which closed on March 6, 2015, Citi has shortlisted 50 innovators who are receiving Citi API toolkits today at the Nairobi Garage space.
These 50 techies will work on their ideas and inventions up to March 27, 2015 when they will submit their projects for review by panelists and could win $100,000 in cash rewards as well a chance to take their innovations into production.
The successful applicants are also being taken through a crash-course on doing pitches for their projects. This will come in handy during demo-day for the final shortlisted applicants which will be on April 22 in Nairobi.
