Moovn Technologies joins Nairobi Garage

Moovn Technologies a Seattle-based startup behind cutting-edge technologies that are transforming the way people, products, and payments move around the world has joined our ever-growing community.

The company is based at our Spring Valley Location. The Moovn technology features rideshare services, a cashless payment solution, and an E-commerce platform.

Moovn application also enables you to book an exclusive driver on-demand or Pre-Book a ride for a later time and date.

Moovn infuses technology into transportation to provide customers with car service that’s exclusive, convenient, and affordable.

In 2016,  Moovn was mentioned as an up-and-coming ‘serious’ competitor to Uber within the Sub-Sahara Africa market by Techvoize, a prominent tech journal that covers emerging tech and startup news across the Middle East and Africa after launching in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania.

Founded in 2015 by Godwin Gabriel, Moovn, initially launched in six U.S. markets before expanding to Sub-Saharan Africa in March 2016. The app lets users book rides, instantly or ahead of time, selecting the type of vehicle they want.

In addition to cars, Moovn also has options for more affordable vehicles like motorcycles and tricycles (also known as TukTuks).

The dynamic team at Moovn consists of transportation, hospitality, and technology industry geeks who collectively provide a great wealth of expertise and beyond the box ideas.

Together they’ve built an enterprise that continues to set a benchmark for innovation, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

At Moovn, the operating philosophy is centered on one key focus: commitment to taking care of our partners by putting them first. Moovn believes that by taking good care of them, they will also take good care of our customers.

Earlier this year Moovn also launched the Moovn The Future initiative aimed at addressing racial disparities that exist in the tech space.

Moovn The Future initiative aims to provide training, college recruitment, sustainable careers, and leadership opportunities for young black men and women by supporting Tech related Programs in predominantly black Public Schools and HBCUs (Historic Black Colleges & Universities) across the United States and beyond.

In 2016, Moovn also partnered with Vodacom Tanzania to allow users to use the M-PESA Mobile Money platform to book and pay for the Moovn services.

As Moovn now makes a debut in Kenya, we are proud to have them at Nairobi Garage Spring Valley.

Moovn now joins the likes of Education For All Children (EFAC), The Baobab Network,  Msingi Africa,  Addlestone PR, Inuka, Seacrest Technology, Rutega Education Services, My Planted Kitchen, IPE Global  and Proto Energy who joined us this month

These companies now join companies like Mastercard Foundation, mdundo, Africa Logistics Properties, MEST Africa, Weber Shandwick, Akili Networks, and other great and innovative companies who are also part of the Nairobi Garage business network.
