Liquid Telecom wins ‘Best African Wholesale Carrier’ for 8th Year

Congratulations to our member and partner Liquid Telecom, who won the ‘Best African Wholesale Carrier’ award for the eighth consecutive year at the Global Carrier Awards.

Liquid Telecom, was also recognized at the World Communications awards for the best ‘Regional Wholesale Operator of the Year’ for the second year in a row.

The company was also applauded for helping thousands of fish farmers in Kenya to monitor ponds and increase production with the ‘Most Innovative IoT Solution’.

The judges were impressed by Liquid Telecom’s  “real-world application delivering tangible benefits to a wide array of users and an excellent IoT solution with clear benefits for farmers as well as for the healthiness of the fish industry in Kenya”.

Nic Rudnick, Group CEO of Liquid Telecom, said “We are delighted to have picked up three awards in one night. Being recognised for ‘Best African Wholesale Carrier’ for eight consecutive years is unprecedented in the industry. Further recognition for best ‘Regional Wholesale Carrier’ and ‘Most Innovative IoT Solution’ reflects the continuing investment which we have been making in our network and the new innovations and solutions which we have been developing to enhance the value that we deliver to our customers”.

The leading Pan-African Telecoms company has also been shortlisted twice at the upcoming AfricaCom awards in the ‘Connecting The Continent’ and ‘Changing Lives’ categories.

Earlier in October, Liquid Telecom South Africa also won the ‘Best Fixed Network of the Year’ award at the 15th MyBroadband Conference and Expo.

This award recognises excellence in the fixed network market. Liquid Telecom stood out from its competitors for the biggest network modernization project the company has undertaken in over a decade. The network refresh included replacing ageing infrastructure across its core and aggregation networks.

Liquid Telecom also unveiled its new network upgrade responding to customer demand for extra bandwidth and vastly improved reliability.

Liquid Telecom’s network upgrade includes regionalized redundancy to help ensure continued service to overcome network interruptions. It will also provide customers with increased capacity and on-demand bandwidth to support the rapidly evolving needs of private and public sector organizations across South Africa.

Using real-time self-service functionality, customers can now boost their bandwidth whenever needed – for a day, a week or a month.
