After Office Hours Recap: Accelerators Fuel Founder Success

What does it really take to move from building a business to scaling one?

That was the question at the heart of our latest After Office Hours session, where we were delighted to welcome John Icharia, Growth Accelerator Program Lead at Jasiri, for an engaging discussion on how accelerator programmes help founders and SMEs unlock their next stage of growth.

Throughout the evening, John shared practical insights into what accelerators are, how they support businesses beyond funding, and why mentorship, accountability, strategic guidance, and strong networks are often the real catalysts for sustainable growth. The conversation also explored what makes a business “accelerator-ready” and why timing can be just as important as ambition.

As always, the discussion didn’t end with the presentation. Founders, entrepreneurs, and business leaders stayed on to exchange ideas, ask questions, and continue the conversation long after the session had wrapped up.

A big thank you to John Icharia and the Jasiri team for sharing their experience and giving our community practical takeaways that founders can apply to their own businesses.

At Nairobi Garage, we believe that growth happens faster when people learn from one another. Events like After Office Hours are designed to create exactly those opportunities for connection, collaboration, and shared learning.
