Get yourself ready for November’s edition of HacksHackers Nairobi (#HHNBO) on Thursday the 29th at Nairobi Garage, Pinetree Plaza.

Want to learn how to do online open-source investigations? Interested in learning a few basic tools to help you mine publicly available sources to get deeper insights for your stories?

Joining us will be cybersecurity expert, Peter Numi who consults with the Private Sector on matters digital and cybersecurity. He will show you how to use OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) tools to help you access information publicly available on the web not only for fact-checking and verification but also to help you in your investigations.

Some of the questions we will be seeking to answer are: What is Open Source Intelligence? What tools are available to legally search for information online? What tools can you use to extract and analyse such information? How can you use these tools to enhance your investigations?

These are skills that can help newsrooms, investigative journalists, editors and anyone interested in telling more impactful, well-researched reports and stories.
