Datahack4FI Season 3 Finale Kenya
Join us for Season 3 Finale of the DataHack4FI Kenya on 11th July from 5pm to 8pm at our Kilimani Office Space.

Six teams will present Prototypes to an executive panel of judges. The Winner takes home USD 5000 and a ticket to Kigali to compete for USD 25,000!

DataHack4FI is an African innovation competition that encourages tech and data enthusiasts to collaborate in using data and analytics to solve business challenges and improve financial and economic inclusion.

The competition encourages Pan-African collaboration by creating opportunities for data enthusiasts and emerging tech companies to partner in developing solutions that address local financial and economic inclusion-related challenges.

Building on the previous seasons of the competition, Season 3 of DataHack4FI, will serve as  a platform for each participating team to showcase the solution they develop to potential investors, partners and clients.

Through DataHack4FI, i2i is building a community of tech entrepreneurs, data enthusiasts, innovation hubs, academic institutions, development partners and financial service providers eager to apply their skills in promoting the use of data for financial and economic inclusion.

In Season the last season the overall winner of the DataHack for Financial Inclusion was WazInsure  who is also a member of the Nairobi Garage business community.

WazInsure developed supervised and unsupervised machine-learning models that analyse both internal and external data sources to predict the likelihood of a boda-boda driver claiming for a high-risk event.

The model uses structured internal data from surveys conducted on drivers. The external data used includes unstructured and crowd-sourced data from social media platforms and others. The outputs of the analysis performed allow insurance providers to better assess risk for boda-boda driver
