After Office Hours with Tony Wood

The world marked the World Health Day on 7th April to celebrate the progress being made in health care in countries across the world.

As much as the statistics from the World Health Organisation shows that millions of people still have no access at all to health care and millions more are forced to choose between health care and other daily expenses such as food, clothing and even a home,  we still can’t turn a blind eye to the fact that innovation such as telemedicine, e-health, m-health has revolutionized the healthcare sector

In line with this, our upcoming After Office Hours session will focus on health and innovation.  The session will be held at our Kilimani Office Space, on 7th Floor at Pinetree Plaza from 6pm by Tony Wood, Managing Director, Managing Director at ION Kenya, the company that operates the MYDAWA brand.

Tony comes to the Pharmaceutical Industry with a successful technology background, because technology is at the heart of our customer solution. He has a very strong team of Pharmacists and pharmaceutically trained experts to ensure that we meet all our Operational and Regulatory requirement to provide a fully customer focused solution.

Prior to MYDAWA, Tony was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Wananchi Business Services, responsible for Government, Enterprise and SME customers plus the International and Wholesale parts of the business.

Before this he led Alcatel-Lucent East Africa and has been based in Nairobi for almost 8 years. Internationally, he has also held numerous leadership roles at BT Global Services and at his own Management Consultancy working across Europe focusing on corporate management and transformation.

This all followed a successful career as a Communications Engineering Officer in the UK Royal Air Force. Mr Wood  has a Masters degree in Telecommunications Business from University College London (UCL) and an Electronic Engineering degree gained during his career in the UK Royal Air Force.
