After Office Hours // Rina Hicks

It is that time of the year again, where we take some time off to look back at the year that has been, and start to plan our goals for the upcoming year.

In most cases while setting up our new year’s resolution, finances top the list. We are always thinking of how we can become better savers while still enjoying the pleasures of life. We also start to think of how we can invest so as to secure the future. 

For sure 2020 has been a year that took a toll on us, and our finances. From salary cuts to losing jobs, cancelled contracts, business closures, coupled with uncertain economic times – 2020 made us rethink some financial decisions we made while setting up new year resolutions.

Despite everything that has happened, knowing your financial status at all times is vital. We should always be ready to take a reality check to assess the areas needed to improve and identify blind spots that hinder you from reaching your goals.

In our last After Office Hours session this year, we will talk to Rina Hicks, an Author, Investment Advisor, Mentor, Speaker, Certified Coach, and Director Faida Investment Bank. Join us for the virtual session on Thursday, 3rd December 2020 from 4.30 pm.

We will talk to Rina about her life journey to understand how who she is, and what she does, impacts both herself, as well as those around her. Rina will also share her passion for equipping Africans with the basic tools, the knowledge that helps them live financially successful and impactful lives. At this After Office Hours, we will also chat about wealth creation, and management tools; as well as how choosing investment opportunities can be linked to our values and purpose in life.

About the speaker

Rina Hicks is a Corporate Finance Analyst and a Director at Faida Investment Bank. She holds an MBA degree from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Finance and Marketing from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia.  

She is a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst by ICIFA and has been involved in many corporate finance advisory projects that have included mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, and Initial Public Offers over the last eleven years.  

Rina is also a Certified Professional Coach, working with individuals, groups and corporates helping them discover their purpose, articulate their personal visions and values, crystalize their aspirations and develop personal and professional goals in key areas of their lives.  

Rina is the author of the book Money-Wise: Create, Grow and Preserve Wealth  (2016) Integrity Publishers, U.S.A. In her view, many, including professionals struggle with managing their finances and are therefore on a mission to demystify investing, saving and financial planning. Her desire is to propel Africans to greater heights in the management of their finances, creating nations of financially secure families.
