October 13, 2026EldoHub: Growing Kenya’s Young Tech Talent
From supporting green entrepreneurs to equipping young people with digital skills, Nairobi Garage member EldoHub is helping shape Kenya’s growing innovation ecosystem.
Kenya’s next generation of innovators is getting support from organisations working to turn ideas into real opportunities. Among them is EldoHub, a technology and innovation company founded in 2016 by Magdaline Chepkemoi, with hubs in Eldoret and Nairobi, including a presence at Nairobi Garage Kilimani.
Through its training programmes, startup support and industry partnerships, EldoHub is helping young people develop digital skills, access employment and build businesses. Its recent involvement in the IYBA-SEED Green Industries Kenya National Demo Day is another example of that work in action.
Supporting Kenya’s green entrepreneurs
On 29 September 2026, EldoHub participated in the IYBA-SEED Green Industries Kenya National Demo Day, an initiative supporting entrepreneurs developing sustainable solutions.
Backed by the European Union and European government partners, the IYBA-SEED programme works with local organisations to strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystems and help emerging businesses grow.
Through the initiative, EldoHub has been supporting business development service providers with tools, market insights and tailored approaches to help startups strengthen their operations and prepare for growth.
The National Demo Day brought some of that work into the spotlight, featuring businesses including Vermiseed Ventures, Eco-Bees and Gooseberry Delight.
Among the entrepreneurs recognised was Viola Maina of Gooseberry Delight, who was selected to represent EldoHub at the regional Demo Day.
For EldoHub, the event reflects a wider commitment to connecting promising entrepreneurs with the skills, networks and opportunities they need to move their businesses forward.
Meet the founder behind EldoHub
Behind the organisation is Magdaline Chepkemoi, EldoHub’s Founder and CEO, whose work extends beyond the company into Kenya’s wider innovation ecosystem.
In 2022, Chepkemoi was elected chairperson of the Association of Countrywide Innovation Hubs, a network bringing together innovation hubs from across Kenya.
Under her leadership, EldoHub has grown into a platform supporting digital skills development, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities.
That work has also earned recognition beyond Kenya. At the October 2025 AfriLabs Annual Awards in Nairobi, EldoHub received four awards, including Regional Hub of the Year for Eastern Africa, Most Collaborative Hub, Excellence in Gender Inclusion and Community Engagement Champion.
“This recognition is a victory for every innovator and entrepreneur who has walked through our doors,” Chepkemoi said, highlighting the role of collaboration and inclusion in Africa’s digital future.
Turning digital skills into opportunities
EldoHub’s work goes beyond teaching technology. Its programmes aim to connect learning with practical opportunities, whether that’s securing employment, developing digital solutions or launching a business.
According to the organisation, it has trained more than 25,000 young people and women across Kenya and East Africa, connected over 10,000 people to digital work and supported more than 1,000 SMEs.
Initiatives such as its Tech Academy, Miliki Accelerator and TechLab Mashinani help learners and entrepreneurs build skills at different stages of their journeys.
Another example is SasaKazi, a digital job-matching platform launched in 2023 in partnership with Thunderbird Global School of Management and the UK-Kenya Tech Hub.
The platform connects emerging tech professionals with businesses looking for digital solutions, helping bridge the gap between developing technical skills and finding paid work.
Together, these initiatives reflect EldoHub’s focus on making technology a pathway to economic opportunity.
Introducing tech skills to the next generation
As the November and December school holidays approach, EldoHub is also extending its work to younger learners through its upcoming Holiday Tech & AI Bootcamp.
Designed for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, the programme introduces participants to coding, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital creativity and entrepreneurship.
Sessions will take place in Nairobi and Eldoret, with an online option available for learners elsewhere.
The bootcamp builds on EldoHub’s wider mission to make technology education more accessible and encourage young people to explore opportunities in the digital economy.
Families interested in learning more can contact EldoHub directly for programme details and registration information.
Part of the Nairobi Garage community
With its Nairobi hub based at Nairobi Garage Kilimani, EldoHub is part of a community of businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators working across different industries.
From helping green startups reach new markets to introducing young learners to technology, EldoHub’s recent initiatives show how its work continues to evolve.
It’s this kind of progress that we love highlighting through Member News: the people and businesses within our community, the work they’re doing and the impact they’re making beyond our spaces.
