wfpThe United Nation’s World Food Programme (WFP) and Singularity University  will be hosting two evenings of innovation, collaboration and community building in Nairobi, Kenya.  They are bringing together a mix of entrepreneurs, changemakers, designers, techies, students and anyone interested in how we can solve the Global Impact Challenge (GIC) of providing a sustainable source of Food In Emergencies.  These events are a kickoff of what they hope will be a long engagement between WFP and entrepreneurs and innovators on the African continent.
Global Impact Challenge Mixer
The mixer is open to anyone and is an opportunity to join Kenya’s innovation community in working to end hunger. Meet and mingle with other bright minds, WFP and Singularity staff, and experts. Learn about the Global Impact Challenge and innovation at WFP. Hear from Singularity University’s Vice President of Impact and Faculty Chair of Global Grand Challenges, Nick Haan  and the WFP Innovation Accelerator on how to accelerate your concept towards meeting the needs of food in emergencies. Global Impact Challenge Design Sprint
Are you working on a bold solution to providing food in emergencies? The Design Sprint is an exclusive opportunity for those actively working on solutions to end hunger to get support from the World Food Program to develop and refine your idea. Participants will learn and apply essential lean-startup and human-centered design skills while working to refine their solutions to be ready to submit to the Global Impact Challenge. The event will be capped at 20 participants, those wishing to attend must fill out a short project description. Will be held on February 21 between 6-9p.m. at GrowthAfrica Nairobi Lenana Towers, 5th Floor, Lenana Rd, Nairobi, Kenya
