Women are increasingly becoming business owners especially in Africa. As economies grow and opportunities for open up, women are jumping into the murky but rewarding waters of tech, innovation and entrepreneurship in general.
This has seen Sub-Saharan Africa register the largest percentage of female entrepreneurs worldwide at an impressive 27%. However, a lot needs to be done to tell more stories and give more women entrepreneurs a chance to take their startup to the global stage.
She Leads Africa is a pioneer in this respect and has been promoting women entrepreneurs and giving them a helping hand to grow. The organization came up with the entrepreneur showcase to give women entrepreneurs an opportunity to win cash as well as network on the global stage.
The participants will be competing to win $15,000 in cash, media features in international media outlets as well as meetings with top global investors. The inaugural event in 2014 received over 400 applications from 27 countries.
The entrepreneur showcase 2015 is upon us and being the second edition it’s going to be bigger.

Requirements;
-Be between 18-35 years of age
-If it’s a business, there has to be a female founder below 35 years
-Company MUST have launched their product/service
-Operation of business be less than 3 years
-Have received less than $50,000 in funding
