Girl power is what we’re all about this month, and we’re super happy to be taking part in the African Women in Technology conference later this month giving us the opportunity to celebrate that! We’re collaborating with Innov8tiv to make sure it’s a success, and hosting the invite-only opening event at our very own space on Wednesday 20th June.
On the 21st-22nd July this one-of-a-kind conference will take place at the Kenyatta University Chandaria Innovation Centre, where women working in the tech field will be able to participate in a combination of tech workshops, and informative discussions about careers in tech and how to pursue them! Speaking at the conference will be Hannah Clifford, our very own general manager, Ida Jeng, director of global communication and strategy for Refunite, and Ivan Mbowa, CEO of Umati Capital. That’s three members of our big family that will be attending, representing the Garage. The event will also be a great opportunity to network! Women in the tech industry are not few, but they’re often far between, so the chance to connect with so many is one we hope none of you will miss. It’s free to attend. To RSVP, click here.
Also, we have a big treat in store for whoever wins first or second prize in the Women in Tech pitch competition. First Place Winner will get a six-month pass to the Nairobi Garage and Second Place Winner will get a three-month one! Do you have a company led by women that kicks butt? Try your luck by signing up here.
