If you’ve been trying to grow your business, discouragement can easily knock you off your feet and make you question whether you should be giving up on your business and even wondering whether achieving your dream is possible.

However, the founders that we revere as successful are not because they started but because they never gave up even when the universe gave them a thousand reasons to.

When he started his first business in a while back, he was forced shut it down, barely 10 months into the business, after it became unsuitable to continue with operations due to the political situation in Kenya then.

Years later, he decided that it was time for a Fresh start and started off CIO East Africa, an IT Publication that recently marked 10 years of publishing the CIO East Africa magazine. The magazine has since proven to be one of the leading, largest and the fastest growing IT Publication in East Africa.

Apart from CIO East Africa, he is also the founder and Executive Producer of DEMO Africa, a launchpad for emerging technologies and trends on the continent, the co-founder and director of the African eDevelopment Resource Centre, co-founder of OMS Africa, co-founder Okaki Africa and co-founder and Director of Events Management Solutions.

As we begin the year, join us for an exciting After Office Hours session hosted by Harry Hare, Chairman and Publisher at CIO East Africa and Executive Producer of DEMO Africa as he shares his story and his journey as a serial entrepreneur with a passion for technology and as an exceptional African thought leader.

Apart from being a Serial Entrepreneur, Harry is also an ICT Consultant and e-Government Strategist who has worked with East African Governments in crafting e-Government implementation strategies.

This work includes setting up the East African eGovernment Working Group and the development of the East African eGovernment Framework that was ratified by the East African Council of Ministers.

He has a deep knowledge and understanding of the East African ICT landscape having followed it for close to two decades. He is also a regular ICT commentator on ICT issues in the region and consulted widely by Government Agencies, International Organizations and the Private Sector on strategic ICT issues.

He is also the founder of Kommunication Ultimate, a holding company with several Media, Communication and Events properties including CIO East Africa, an ICT information platform that has a monthly print publication (CIO East Africa), an online ICT portal (www.cio.co.ke) ComputerWorld (www.computerworld.co.ke), Digital Displays, and a series of events including the CIO Executive Breakfast Series, the CIO Golf Series and the CIO 100 Awards and Symposium.

Apart from Kommunication Ultimate Harry is also the  founder and Director of African eDevelopment Resource Centre an organization that has trained Engineers from over 27 African Countries in the last 8 years. He is also a Director at Okaki Health, a health informatics company based in Nairobi and Canada, OMS Africa a managed services company based in Nairobi and EMS Africa an events equipment leasing company.

In 2012, Harry founded DEMO Africa to discover innovative startups from Africa and presenting them to the world. DEMO Africa has since launched 150 startups who’ve raised over US$11 million
